On completion of this apprenticeship, a Commis Chef will have the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of a competent worker in a range of hospitality environments.

Apprentices must undertake this programme of study in a suitable setting and complete:

  • Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy.


  • Multiple-choice test.
  • Practical observation
  • Culinary challenge observation.
  • Professional discussion.




On completion of this apprenticeship, a hospitality supervisor will have acquired the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of a competent worker in a range of hospitality environments. Pathways must be specified at the beginning of the study programme.

Apprentices must undertake the programme in a suitable setting and complete:

  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy.


  • Multiple-choice test.
  • Practical observation
  • Business project.
